The alcohol-free hand sanitizers merely reduce the growth of germs rather than kill them outright whereas alcohol-based hand sanitizer kills germs and bacteria completely. Alcohol-free hand sanitizer causes more skin irritation as compared to alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
